As a way to help promote the performance-based arts to people who may not go very often, in 2005 the Council paid for $5 of the first 50 tickets sold on one night's performance of a production both by Park University Theatre (The Laramie Project) and by Fair Based Productions (A Christmas Carol).
In 2006, the Events Committee decided to work with Weston Community Theatre and the Northland Symphony Orchestra to coordinate something similar. However, since both organizations don't charge tickets, the Council is working to help pay for the royalties for one performance instead.
